Anyway back to the subject. During my late teens till my "fall" I attended a hall in South Essex and being Mr Popular knew loads of people in that area. This thread is a probably vain attempt to find out what happened to my "mates" I left behind. So far I've only found one 'postate from my old congregation but as he used to wear a nappy when I would have known him he wasn't much help in tracking down my mates.

So, is there anyone here from South Essex or used to go to one of those congregations?

As i understand it it would be looked upon as either attempted suicide or if the elders are nutty a sign that you are possessed by demons. Fearful that you might harm yourself and therefore bring reproach upon Jehovahs name the elders will probably attempt to disfellowship you to save themselves from any embarrassment you might cause them.

According to jw, "cutting" shows a disrespect for Gods creation, the human Body. Smokers are Disfellowshippeed because they show this self same disrespect for the human body.

Anyone know about 'cutting'?

i am researching cutting and self-mutilation because i have a close family member who is doing this--she burned her arm last week and it's bad.

i was wondering--i found an article on the internet that talks about support for the person and how some people get relief by using other methods like icing the skin with ice cubs or flicking themselves with rubber bands.. this person is in therapy and in the care of a psyciatrist too but i just wondered how common this is.

her diagnosis isn't even for sure--could be adhd or depression.. any comments on experience with this would be helpful.

i don't want to do the chicken shit thing and ignore her.

Ok then choose the nicest way you were dumped and do it to her like that.

I was a bit bad when it came to clingy people, I had a nasty experience with a bunny boiler so i tended to be a bit brutal when it came to finishing with people.

Wow... by reading the posts on that site it appears they are going down the exact same path that JWD did years ago. JWD started out in staunch support of the WTS, but over time as free expression was allowed, the site gradually started to "Wake up" to the fact that the WTS is nothing more than a lying, evil cult.

So what happened to this site? Was Simon active when he started it off? did he get df'd or fade. How did it go over to the darkside?
